Tynwald is set to double the financial penalty parents pay when their children don't go to school.
When the court sits later this month, members will be asked to raise the amount of money asked for under a fixed-penalty notice for truancy.
Parents will face a bill of £100 instead of £50.
Education and Children Minister Graham Cregeen will ask the court to back the regulations, which replace rules dating to 2009.
